Let's work to attain 75% of Akuapem North votes - Sammi Awuku urges NPP faithful

The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Akuapem North constituency, Samuel Awuku, has called on party supporters to intensify their efforts to attain 75 percent of the vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

He emphasized that achieving this goal would solidify the NPP's dominance and significantly advance the party's agenda of breaking the eight-year governance cycle, a feat never achieved in the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

Addressing participants at the 'Mega Ofie Walk' held at the Mampong Coronation Park on Saturday, August 3, 2024, Mr. Awuku underscored the significance of the target goal, stressing that its attainment would ensure total victory for the NPP when combined with similar polls in other constituencies in the Eastern Region and beyond.

Mr. Awuku noted that the party secured 65% of the popular vote in the 2020 elections with former candidate Dokuah Asiamah Agyei and urged the crowd to build on this success, working diligently to surpass it and strengthen the NPP's position against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

"With your support, we can build on our achievements and make the path to breaking the eight-year governance cycle clearer and more achievable," he stated.

Mr. Awuku, also the CEO of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), said the 2024 general elections are a choice between progress and stagnation, urging electorates to read between the lines to determine which party has their interests at heart.

"Elections shape the future and carry profound implications," he said. "A vote for the NDC is a vote for retrogression. The NDC will reverse the solid foundations laid by the NPP, as has always been the case."

Awuku expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia's ability to turn things around with ingenious policies in the next government and acknowledged the difficulties Ghanaians face.

"Ghana is lucky to have had the best pair of hands to manage the economy during this difficult situation orchestrated by COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war. Today, there are clear signs that the economy is bouncing back, and very soon, the economic recovery will be complete, and Ghanaians will enjoy all that they have been desiring," he said.

The event was attended by notable personalities, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim, Jeff Konadu, Seth Acheampong, and Kate Gyamfua, as well as several parliamentary candidates.
