The crunch meeting between the Eminent Advisory Council of the Electoral Commission (EC) with the leadership of the commission and the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) over the compilation of a new voter register for this year's general elections has run for 5 hours already.
The meeting which has been held behind closed door was scheduled to last only two hours.
Information from participants who occasionally come out of the room for fresh air indicates that there is confusion between parties opposing the new register and those who support the call for it.
Journalists gathered at the venue since 9 am.
