Year group presents equipment to KNUST
The 1998 Year Group of the College of Engineering, of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has presented a quantity of laboratory equipment to the Department of Civil Engineering to enhance training of the students at the College in Kumasi.
The equipment valued at about GH¢7,200, comprises mainly geo-technical equipment, hydrometer, jars, liquid limit set, plastic limit set, grooving tool, moisture content, and crucible equipment.
Making the presentation on behalf of the group, Mr Joojo Adinkra-Appiah, said the donation was the commitment of the 1998 group to uplifting civil engineering training at the college.
He said Ghana ought to tap the potentials of engineers for accelerated socio-economic development for national development.
Prof. Sam Ampadu, Provost of the College of Engineering, who received the equipment on behalf of the college, expressed his appreciation for the high quality equipment which would boost the training of engineers at the college.
He said the time had come for the alumni of the university to partner with the management of the university to ensure the university was well equipped and resourced to boost the training of the students.
