Two organisations get support
A USA-based Christian organisations and some individuals have donated items worth GH¢3,000 to the Chosen Rehab Centre in Accra and the Apostolic Church in Koforidua.
The items include clothing, Bibles and Christian novels.
Presenting the items, Rev. Kwabena Boateng advise that the bibles should not be sold but used to propagate the gospel.
According to Rev. Boateng, people in rehab centres need support to recover.
The donation will go a long way to add meaning to the lives of the people at the Chosen Rehab Centre,” he said.
The Christian organisation and individuals who donated the items were Resale store, Mr and Mrs Negbeso, Mrs Eugenia Danso and Rev. Kwabena Boateng.
Apostle Cobi Washington, Executive Director of Chosen Rehabilitation Centre, said it provides free boarding facilities for the rehabilitation of drug addicts, street children and those addicted to alcohol.
He also said thousands of inmates had graduated from the centre rehabilitation occurs over a period of three months after which inmates are reunited with their families and integrated into the society by securing jobs and accommodation for them.
