Tamale: Photos from workers demo
From the Northern Regional capital of Tamale, Graphic Online's reporter Samuel Duodu reports that workers hit the streets to join in the nationwide demonstration to voice their concerns over the Energy Sector Levies Act 2015, as well as hikes in electricity and water tariffs.
The protest march started at the Jubilee Park through some principal streets in the metropolis amidst brass band music with the workers clad in red dresses and arm bands.
A section of the public who had gathered along the streets to show their support added their voice to the call on the government to remove the petroleum tax and reduce utility tariffs.
Some of the placards on display read: " Mr. President Workers are suffering ooohh! .
"Killer Utilities Mr. President do something," "Mr. President withdraw the Energy Tax" among others.
