SOS signs MoU with women’s organisation to improve lives of children, families at Chorkor
SOS Children’s Villages Ghana (SCVG), an organisation committed to children’s welfare, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Executive Women Network (EWN), a non-profit organisation for women in senior management, to improve on the lives of vulnerable children and their families in the Chorkor community in Accra last Saturday.
The five-year partnership will focus on the implementation of the family strengthening programme (FSP) of the SCVG.
The FSP is a community intervention scheme targeted at vulnerable families with children who stand the risk of losing parental care, child rights and protection.

Essence
Speaking on behalf of the EWN, the Leader of the Executive Council of the EWN, Mrs Patience Akyianu, said the essence of partnering the community-based organisation was to promote women’s rights in support of Goal Five of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“This gesture forms part of the EWN’s objective to help address challenges faced by women and children in society through financial support and mentorship for girls and women,” she added.
Mrs Akyianu lauded the efforts of the Exim Bank, Newmont Ghana, Nestle Ghana, the Bank of Africa, as well as individuals who supported the network.
Commendation
Receiving the cheque, the Programme Coordinator of the SCVG, Mr George Yaw Boateng, expressed appreciation to EWN and said the support would impact positively on the lives of children and families under the care of the organisation.
He gave an assurance that the SCVG would spare no effort in achieving the objectives of the project.
