SONA 2025: President Mahama announces key events to address economic crisis

President John Dramani Mahama has announced two major events aimed at presenting the real state of the nation’s economy to Ghanaians.

He stated that a National Economic Dialogue would be held from March 3 to 4, followed by the presentation of the 2025 budget estimate on March 11 for the upcoming financial year.

Delivering his maiden State of the Nation Address since being elected to office, President Mahama emphasised that these events would provide an opportunity for the government to transparently present the economic challenges facing the country.

"It is not my style to lament and shift blame when confronted with challenges. My approach is to accept challenges and work hard to resolve them," he affirmed.

He acknowledged the difficult state of the country but stressed that he understood why he was elected with overwhelming voter confidence—to fix Ghana’s problems.
