Security man arrested for murdering taxi driver
A 28-year-old security man has been arrested by the Tema Police for allegedly murdering a taxi driver.
The suspect, Francis Akpanya Sackey, who is a security man at the Pioneer Food Company, was arrested by the Tema Regional Police patrol team at the Kpone Junction on October 1, this year.
The Second in Command of the Tema Regional Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mathew Appiagyei, told newsmen that Sackey was driving a taxi when he was arrested.
Mr Appiagyei said policemen suspected the taxi to have been stolen when they noticed that it had a number plate at the front but not at the rear.

A further search in the car revealed a locally manufactured pistol, two live cartridges, a sharp knife and a BBL multimedia sub-woofer system.
Other items found were a portable DVD player, two military camouflage shorts and two screw drivers.
He said Sackey was arrested and taken to the Tema Regional CID for further investigations when he could not give any reason for possessing those items.
According to the police, about 7 a.m. the same day, information reached the command that a dead body had been found on the Tema Manhean Cemetery Road, which links Kpone to the Manhean community.
The police went to the scene and a search on the body revealed a driver’s licence and Zenith Bank and Data Link University ID cards bearing the name Edward Jojo Acquah, aged 28.
Mr Appiagyei said one Ms Anita Aklamanu went to the police station and identified the taxi as belonging to her and the deceased as the driver she had employed to drive the taxi.
Ms Aklamanu told the police that the original registration number of the taxi was GE 3532 X, and not the GT 8733 Q found on it at the time of Sackey’s arrest.
