Police shoot two dead after 'mistaking them for armed robbers'
The police have shot a teacher,Francis Gbene, 33, and his brother, Thadeus Gbene, 29, dead at Mampong in the Ashanti Region.
The teacher was based at the Mampong Midwifery Training College.
The two were reportedly mistaken for armed robbers and shot Wednesday dawn by the police who claimed to be responding to a distress call.
Superintendent Bismark Agyapong confirmed the incident to the media, according to Graphic Online's correspondent, Kwadwo Baffoe Donkor.
According to his account of the event, when the Police got to the scene, they heard the sound of a moving motor bike and suspected the rider and his pillion rider might be armed robbers who were getting away, and so shot them.
The bodies of the two have been deposited at the mortuary.
