Police prevent NDC and NPP supporters brawl outside Nana Addo's residence
The Nima police on Sunday morning averted an attack on the residence of Presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, by a mob alleged to be enthusiasts of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The mob according to unconfirmed reports were undertaking a healthwalk when they veered-off their route and made their way to Nana Addo's house where they were prevented from entering by his security men.
They then resorted to pelting the house with stones and bottles while others ripped-off some of his campaign banners.
Members of the NPP also rushed to the scene and the two groups of supporters engaged in scuffles in front of the residence.
However, officers of the Nima police who are stationed close to Nana Addo's residence rushed to the scene and prevented the situation from escalating.
