Philanthropist Dr McKorley donates to Homowo
The businessman and philanthropist, Dr Daniel Nii Nsia McKorley, has made presentations to 10 traditional councils and authorities in the Greater Accra Region towards the celebration of this year’s Homowo Festival.
The items presented included bags of maize, gallons of palm oil, assorted drinks, packs of bottled water, cartons of gin (spirit), cartons of biscuits and undisclosed sums of money.
The beneficiaries are the Lante Dzan We, Tema, Ga, Blema Ayawaso, Ada, Osu, La, Teshie, Prampram and Ningo Traditional councils.
The gesture, which was initiated by Dr McKorley last month to coincide with the celebration of Homowo by the people of Nungua, also saw essential Ga-Dangme groupings, such as the Wulomei Council, the Ga-Dangme Asafoatsemei Council, the Ga-Dangme Callers, The unique Group, etc, duly receiving their support packages accordingly.
Dr McKorley, whose vision is to promote the Ga-Dangme people, interests and heritage, said he hoped to continue with the gesture through the years.
Nuumo Yemoh Obroni, the Lakpaa Wulomo, who received the presentation on behalf of the Wulomei Council, thanked Dr McKorley for the gesture.
The Ga Asafoatse Mankattah also received it for and on behalf of the Asafoatsemei Council at the meeting grounds at the Ussher Fort.
