Peak Milk organises health talk for kayayei

A number of female porters, popularly known as kayayei, have benefited from a health talk at the Children’s Park in Accra, in line with efforts to promote good nutrition among Ghanaians.

This was during a float organised by FrieslandCampina West Africa Limited, owners of the Peak Milk brand in Ghana, for about 500 female porters, who were also registered under the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Apart from the health talk, donations were also made to the various kayayei groups.

The Director of the Department of Social Welfare, Mrs Comfort Asare, represented the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur, at the event which was also attended by some key functionaries of the Department of Children.
