National forum on 2016 budget in Accra tomorrow
A national forum to discuss the 2016 budget with respect to petroleum revenue will be held tomorrow at the Alisa Hotel in Accra at 8:30 a.m. on the theme, “Budget 2016 Forum: Making the Most of Petroleum Revenues”.
Topics to be discussed at the forum, which is being organised by the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI), UK, and the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), Ghana, are “Recent fiscal challenges and risks: What should we expect in 2016?” and “Getting the most of petroleum revenues: What should we expect in 2016?”
The guest speaker for the forum will be the Chairman of IFS’ Governing Council and former Bank of Ghana Governor, Mr Alex Ashiagbor.
Other speakers are Professor Newman Kwadwo Kusi, Executive Director, IFS, and Mr Mark Evans, Africa Economic Analyst, NRGI.

Panel discussions would be led by Dr Amin Adam, Executive Director, Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP); Dr Eric Osei-Assibey, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics, University of Ghana, Legon, and Dr Edward Nketia-Amponsah, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics, University of Ghana, Legon.
The rest are Dr Ishmael Ackah, Head of Policy, ACEP; Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, Executive Director, Financial Accountability Transparency (FAT) and former Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament, and Major Daniel Ablorh-Quarcoo, former Commissioner of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Chairman of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC).
