Minister to open water and construction show
The Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Dr Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah, will be the guest of honour at the Water Africa and West Africa Building and Construction 2016 Exhibition and Seminar at the Accra International Conference Centre from June 22 to 24, 2016.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing, and departments and agencies under the ministry, have been supporters of the prestigious trade exhibition since it began in the 1990s.
Event
The event aims “to create a two-way flow of information for visitors and participants which will help them to analyse their sector needs and set in place the necessary steps for expansion and improvement in these important areas,” says Mrs Tracey Nolan-Shaw, the Managing Director of the organisers, ACE Event Management. The company has worked in Africa since the 1990s, providing a platform for practitioners and traders.
This year, countries to be represented among the 70-plus exhibitors include Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy and Kuwait.
Other countries are Malaysia, Morocco, The Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, UK and USA.
Among the construction exhibitors will be Dangote Cement Ghana, Turkish concrete technology providers, Betonstar Concrete Pumps and Elkon AS, who make batching plants. Morocco’s 10 Rajeb will be exhibiting its range of doors, while Ghana’s Al-Mega Supplies & Logistics will introduce the Hartl bucket crusher.
Seminar programme
Topics to be discussed include the progress towards the Millennium Development Goals, water management, rural water and sanitation and techniques to improve water and sanitation projects.
According to the organisers, the President of the Chartered Institute of Building-Africa, Mr Rockson Dogbegah, will open the Building & Construction seminar.
The programme will include financing infrastructure projects, development control, sustainable solutions for both urban and rural housing and excellence in green design.
