
Marshallans support Senior Correctional Centre
The Dansoman branch of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall, a Catholic friendly society, has presented working tools worth GH¢10,000 to the Senior Correctional Centre of the Ghana Prisons Service.
Among the items presented were two industrial machines, three sewing machines, three industrial irons, a number of scissors, fevical glue, supper adhesive glue, thread for sewing, wax prints, try square, detergent, clothes and shoes.
The presentation of the equipment was in response to an appeal made by the centre to the Dansoman Marshallans to help equip the bamboo workshop.
Maintenance
The Noble Lady of Court 63, Dansoman, Sister Josephine Amoah, who handed over the items, appealed to the authorities to properly maintain them.

She also advised the inmates to take their practical lessons seriously to enable them to acquire skills to be used after their discharge.
The Grand Knight of Council 71, Dansoman, Brother Ferdinand Nimako, said the donation was “to fulfil our promise made last year to retool the bamboo workshop to help the inmates acquire the necessary skills to be good artisans”.
He said Marshallans all over the world sought to assist the needy and underprivileged individuals and organisations.
An officer at the Centre, Assistant Superintendent of Prisons (ASP) Madam Victoria Adu-Amoah Foli, who received the items, commended the Marshallans for keeping their promise.
She said the equipment would help in the training of the inmates.
