Mantse Ankrah family cautions attorney
The elders and principal members of the Mantse Ankrah Family of Otublohum Dadeban-Naa, have cautioned Benjamin Yemo Tetteh of La, to whom the family had ‘only’ granted power of Attorney to desist from parading himself as a member and a principal elder of the family and to desist from interfering in the affairs of the family.
A letter signed by Edward Nii Otu Ankrah and Anthony Nii Ayi Ankra, who both are principal elders of the family, said Mr Yemo Tetteh got officially associated with the family when the late Nii Oblempong Ankrah, the family head then, introduced him to the rest of the family in 2011, as someone with the requisite knowledge to assist in tracing assets belonging to the family.
Mr Yemo Tetteh appears to have appropriated more powers unto himself than with the terms of condition and actions spelt clearly in the power of attorney issued, in collaboration with one member of the family, Nii Otinkorang Ankrah, who also resides in La, with the intention to divide and rule.
The family has taken strong exception to his publication in the Daily Graphic on Wednesday, August 16, 2013, purporting to have terminated the power of attorney the family granted to Madam Rose Amanuah Ankrah .
The letter stated “Mr. Yemo Tetteh has never been a member of the Mantse Ankrah Family of Otublohum Dadeban-Naa, let alone a principal elder.”
The letter further gave his background as one of the descendants of the late Nii Yemo, popularly known as Kojo Sardine, who hailed from La and, therefore, could not possibly have any ties with the Ankrahs of Otublohum.
The letter asked him to withdraw his claims as a principal elder of the family through the same publication as he did previously in the Daily Graphic.
