Madamfo orphanage gets support
Apsonic Company Limited, dealers in the supply of motorbikes and accessories, has donated a quantity of items to the Madamfo Ghana orphanage in Ho in the Volta Region.
The items included toilet rolls, mattresses, footballs, rice, cooking oil, pens, tomato paste, soft drinks, Key soap, sugar, biscuits and schoolbags.
The administrator of the company, Miss Diana Elorm Totime, said the donation was in accordance with the company’s corporate social responsibility. She said besides Madamfo Ghana orphanage, the company had made a donation to a deprived institution at Battor, also in the Volta Region.
She urged the inmates to take their lessons seriously despite the predicament in which they found themselves. She encouraged them to remain determined in order to overcome obstacles in their way, since that would guarantee them success in life.
The Home Director of the orphanage, Miss Happy Dzamesi, said the donation had come as a surprise, adding that it would give the children hope and courage to overcome their difficulties.
She advised the children to take counselling seriously because it would help to transform their lives and make them useful citizens.
The country director of Madamfo Ghana Foundation, Mr Emmanuel Kumado, disclosed that there were now 50 children at the orphanage in Ho and another 60 in its branch at Kpando.
