The meeting, which was chaired by the Governor for District 403-A2 of LCI, Lion (Mrs) Gloria Esi Lassey, brought together member states, including Togo, Benin, Cote d'Ivoire, Sierra-Leone and Liberia.

Lion Lassey said she had chartered eight clubs already, and promised that three more clubs would be chartered to bring to 11 the number of new clubs to be brought on board during her tenure.

She said the District had been able to process and obtain funding for nine projects this Lionistic year, while it had increased the number of Melvin Jones and Progressive Melvin Jones Fellows by 20.

Lion Lassey noted that she encouraged leadership training teams to train as often as they possibly could and that was followed with the training of zone trainers and trainer of trainers in a day’s seminar in Lome.

With the assistance of some of her region and zone chairmen, she said she had been able to increase the number of clubs from 83 at the beginning of July last year to 90 currently.
