Lante Dzan We marks Homowo

The Chiefs and people of Lante Dzan We in Ga Mashie have celebrated their annual Homowo festival in Accra.

Lante Dzan We, a division of the Asere Kotopon quarters of the Ga State, takes the lead in the celebration of Homowo.
The occasion was marked with family re-unions,sprinkling of kpoikpoi, parties and firing of muskets.

The regent of the clan, Nii Lantei Otanka I, told to the press that the Lante Dzan We clan was the custodian of the calendar for the celebration of Homowo.

He said the ceremony ushered in the Homowo celebrations by the whole of the Ga state.

Nii Otanka, while sprinkling kpoikpoi in the various family houses, prayed for the nation.

He called for peace and unity among Gas and expressed the hope that they would bury their differences to move the Ga State forward.

He also thanked the Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Authority (AMA), Mr Alfred Okoe Vanderpuiye, and the Member of Parliament for the Odododiodoo Constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuiye, for donating cash and various items for the celebrations.

The Acting Dantu Wulomo of the Lante Dzan We clan, Nii Odartey Okasa, poured libation and prayed for their ancestors.

Among some of the chiefs who participated in the festival were the Kaneshie Mantse, Nii Ayitey Kane I, and the Ayawaso Mantse, Nii Tettey Kojo II.
