Government will present the 2027 Budget to Parliament on November 12, with a focus on moving the economy from stabilisation to a more productive, competitive and technology-driven path.
The 2027 Budget is also expected to set out the government’s priorities for the next phase of its economic agenda, with a focus on translating macroeconomic stability into broader economic opportunities and improved living standards.
Deputy Finance Minister, Thomas Nyarko Ampem says the budget will advance the next phase of the government’s economic agenda.
Speaking at the launch in Accra, he said the priority must be to translate economic stability into jobs, higher incomes and improved living standards.Buy Maps
“Stability is the foundation. Productivity is the engine. Jobs and prosperity must be the destination,” he said.
Mr Ampem stated that Ghana’s economy grew by 6 per cent in 2025 and 6.2 per cent in the first half of 2026, while inflation declined from 23.8 per cent in December 2024 to 5.2 per cent in September 2026.
He said the government would now prioritise policies that add value to local resources, support businesses and expand economic opportunities for young people.
According to him, Ghana must move beyond exporting raw materials and strengthen its capacity to produce goods and services with greater value.
“We must move from exporting raw materials to exporting value and from producing job seekers to nurturing innovators, entrepreneurs and job creators,” he said.
