GIPA, partner to showcase Ghana’s investment potential globally

The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), in partnership with the Oxford Business Group (OBG), will showcase investment opportunities in 12 priority sectors to international investors through a new series of Global Platform videos.

The series, featuring President John Dramani Mahama and senior public and private sector leaders, is to present Ghana’s investment priorities and opportunities across agriculture, financial services, ICT, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, tourism, mining, transport, education, utilities and entrepreneurship.

The videos are being produced as part of efforts to communicate the country’s economic direction and sector priorities to global investors and decision makers.

The initiative is being developed under the patronage of President Mahama, whose participation is to provide a national-level perspective on Ghana’s investment agenda.

Partnership

The videos are being produced following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between GIPA and OBG.

Under the agreement, GIPA has partnered with OBG to develop and distribute the Global Platform video series internationally.

The series is to culminate in a documentary bringing together the views of government representatives, sector leaders and private-sector stakeholders on the country’s economic outlook.

Just as its flagship annual country reports, OBG’s Global Platform videos have provided a format for senior public and private sector figures to discuss market developments, policy priorities and investment opportunities.

The Ghana series is to use the format to explore sectors identified as central to the country’s investment agenda and economic development plans.

The content is to be distributed through OBG’s research platform and international financial and media-information networks, including Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Dow Jones Factiva, S&P Capital IQ and LexisNexis.

Investment opportunities

The CEO of GIPA, Simon Madjie, said the collaboration would help Ghana communicate its investment proposition to international audiences.

“Ghana has opportunities across a wide range of sectors, and these must be communicated clearly to investors and business leaders internationally.

Through this series of Global Platform videos, we will highlight the country’s investment priorities, the work of its institutions and the sectors that can support future growth,” he said.

The OBG’s Regional Director for West Africa, Ramona Tarta, said the initiative would build on OBG’s long-standing research presence in Ghana.

“OBG has covered Ghana’s economy for more than a decade, and this collaboration with GIPA builds on that experience.

The Global Platform videos will bring together insights from public-and private-sector leaders, helping international audiences understand the developments and opportunities shaping Ghana’s investment environment,” she said.

Collaboration

The agreement has been built on a relationship between OBG and GIPA that has developed alongside OBG’s research activity in the country.

OBG has maintained a presence in the country since 2011, producing economic analysis and conducting interviews with government officials, business leaders and sector specialists.

GIPA, formerly the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, was reconstituted under the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority Act, 2026 (Act 1173).

he documentary is to provide a consolidated overview of the themes explored in the video series and support GIPA’s ongoing engagement with international investors, institutions and business partners.

Oxford Business Group is a global research and advisory company with a presence in over 30 countries, spanning Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.
