Continental Christian Traders supports Farmers Day
The Continental Christian Traders Limited (CCT), importers and distributors of quality fishing gears, has donated fishing inputs worth GH¢25,430 to support the 31st National Farmers Day celebration. The items include five pieces of nylon fishing nets, 5,400 pieces of fishing floats, 525 boxes of fishing hooks and 500 pieces of woven sacks.
The Managing Director of CCT, Nana Yaa Boateng, who presented the items to the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, said the gesture formed part of her company’s social responsibility to support the fishing industry in the country.
According to her, CCT over the years, had provided scholarship to children in some fishing communities. She said the company would continue to support the fishermen in the country to increase their catch.
Minister’s remark
The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development (MoFAD), Ms Sherry Ayittey, received the items on behalf of her ministry, She said MoFAD had decided to approach the companies to solicit for their support in order to improve on the quality of the awards for fishermen.

She said due to the hard work of fishermen, the European Union had restored the country to its green card status and appealed to other benevolent organisations to emulate the shining example of CCT.
Other Donors
In a related development, three other institutions also presented cheques to support the Farmers Day celebration. They are the Bank of Ghana, GH¢50,000, SSNIT, GH¢5,000 and Ocean Fare, GH¢5,000.
