The Ghana Army has promoted Constance Ama Emefa Edjeani-Afenu to the position of Brigadier General.
She becomes the first-ever female Brigadier General in Ghana.
Brigadier General Edjeani-Afenu is currently the Deputy Military Advisor to Ghana’s Permanent Mission in New York.
Some female officers of the army and other well-meaning Ghanaians have taken to social media to congratulate her.
