Ashanti police grab two suspected car snatchers

But for the timely intervention of the police, residents of Patasi, a suburb of Kumasi, would have sniffed the life out of two suspected car snatchers.

The two identified as Ibrahim Ali, 22 and Nana Kwame Boadi, 25 attempted to snatch an unregistered Toyota corolla car from its owner last Wednesday around 8:30 pm.

However, an alarm raised by the victim, attracted residents to the scene who helped in effecting the arrest of the suspects.

Arrest

Briefing the press, the Ashanti Regional Deputy Commander of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Osei Ampofo Duku, said on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at around 8:30 pm, the victim, who had closed her shop at Patasi and was about moving her car.

He said it was then that the suspects approached her and demanded that she surrendered her keys to them.
