APPMA honours Graphic MD

The African Project and Programmme Management Association (APPMA) has honoured the Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL),  Mr Ken Ashigbey, for  rebranding the Daily Graphic.

He was also acknowledged for his contribution to human capital projects and the socio-economic development of the country.

Award

Mr Ashigbey received a plaque, chartered fellow status, graduate certificate and was conferred with the title, Master Project Manager (MPM), by the American Academy of Project Management.

His award, was received on his behalf by Mr Asamoah Boahene, Assistant Adverts/Sales Manager (Events) of GCGL, at the second edition of the African Project and Programmme Management Conference (APPMC) 2014 which took place in Accra last Friday.

WIPMA

The event was also used to launch the Women in Project Management, (WiPMA). WiPMA is an initiative that seeks to empower women who manage developmental projects. 

Launching the WiPMA, a retired Deputy Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Madam Veronica Sadah, observed that countrywide, projects were mostly executed by men, and said it was important for women to collaborate with their male counterparts to execute projects.

She said the project, established by the APPMA, would go a long way to educate women on the effective management and execution of projects.
