Amasaman court remands six land guards

The Amasaman District Court has remanded in custody six alleged land guards for harassment of landowners at Landline Estates at Oshuiman in the Ga West District.
The – Ernest Kofi Attoh, David Tetteh, Benjamin Aryeetey, Nii Ashalley Okine, Theophilus Ameyipor and Richard Kotey – will reappear before the court on September 11.

Briefing the Daily Graphic, Inspector Samuel Tetteh, the investigator, said the six were placed before the court on charges of conspiracy to commit crime, threat of death, resisting arrest and causing unlawful damage.

He said on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, the police received a report that the suspects were harassing workers on building sites at the area.

He said a police patrol team was despatched there and even though the suspects resisted  arrest and caused damage to a police vehicle and tore the dress of some policemen, the team managed to arrest the six suspects while others managed to run away.

Inspector Tetteh said the police were continuing with investigations to apprehend the rest of the suspects.
