ABCF to distribute 500th bamboo bicycle
The African Bicycle Contribution Foundation (ABCF) will distribute its 500th free bamboo bicycle in Ghana to 85 underprivileged students on Wednesday, July 17 in Accra.
The 85 underprivileged students to receive the sturdy bicycles by the African-American founded NGO are from the Ningo-Prampram School District.
A statement issued by the ABCF said the distribution will be the largest single number of free Ghanaian made bamboo bicycles, at a single event.
The distribution at the Achimota Golf Club, Accra will also mark the 500th bamboo bicycle distributed across Ghana, by the foundation, since late 2016.
"Among the participants at the event will be A. Bruce Crawley, Chairman, and Patricia Marshall Harris, Executive Director, of ABCF; Bernice Dapaah, CEO and founder of Ghana Bamboo Bikes Initiative, the Kumasi-based manufacturers of the iconic EcoRide bamboo bicycle; Hon.
