A taxi driver is jailed for sexually abusing a 15-year old girl

The Akim Swedru Circuit court has sentenced Isaac Darko, a taxi driver to 7-year imprisonment for defiling a 15-year old girl.

Isaac Darko, a 38yr old taxi driver on January 3rd lured a young girl into his room and forced her to have sex with him after she has boarded his taxi.

“The Akim Sweduru Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Emmanuel Bart Plange Brew has sentenced a 38-year old taxi driver, Isaac Darko to seven year jail term with hard labour for defiling a 15year old girl. Prosecuting officer, Inspector Sowah told the court that on the 3rd day of January 2016 this year, at about 3:30pm the victim who is the maid servant of the complainant was sent to give money to somebody at Akyem Oda Morning Star area. The victim was on her way back boarded a vehicle of Isaac Darko, a taxi driver with registration number GT 565613. The accused, who has diabolic intentions for the victim for the rest of the day and finally lured her into his room where he had sex with the victim. The accused kept the victim in his room till a radio announcement was made on the 8th January, 2016 as about 12:30am the accused took the victim to Awisa lorry station and asked her to go home. The complainant on seeing the girl took her to the police station where upon interrogation, she mentioned the name of the accused person as the one who took her in his room and defiled her. She was then issued a medical form for examination. The accused was later arrested and he admitted committing the crime after investigation, he was arraigned before Akim Swedru Circuit court where he is serving a 7-year jail term”, he said.
