MEGHIS wins 'big' at Taekwondo Championship in Accra
The Methodist Girls High School (MEGHIS) Taekwondo Club, an emerging female club, won 5 medals including 4 bronze medals and a silver medal in the just ended 4th xTKD Taekwando Championship held in Accra.
The team, which made its first appearance in the championship amazed and entertained the spectators with a splendid performance.
The event was organised by the Ghana Taekwando Federation (GTF) in conjunction with the xTKD Taekwando Foundation. It was on the theme “Taekwando for Life”.
In all, sixteen girls from the MEGHIS participated in the event under the coaching of Master Gladstone Nditsi Kwawukume, a 1st Dan Black Belt Holder and Master Emmanuel Gamor a 2nd Dan Kukkiwon Black Belt Holder.

The patron of the club, Mr Jerome Tormekpe Gameli told Graphiconline that through hardwork and discipline, the team had been able to make a mark at its first appearance at the annual event.
He said they were more than motivated to step up their training adding that the MEGHIS team would be a team to watch out for in next year’s event.
Other participating teams were University of Ghana (UG) Taekwando, Accra Polytechnic Taekwando, Prisons Taekwando, Power Taekwando, Mapro Taekwando and Powerkids Taekwando.
The rest were Queens Taekwando, Selorm Taekwando, Wam Taekwando, Bans Taekwando and other clubs from Kumasi, Cape Coast and Takoradi.
