Spanish Primera Iberdrola side Sevilla FC have signed Super Falcons forward Uchenna Grace Kanu for the rest of the season.
"I am very happy to reach a great club like Sevilla FC, which has a great history," she told the club’s website after signing the contract.
She becomes the second Nigerian to join Sevilla FC after striker Toni Payne, who joined in July 2018.
Uchenna, who will wear the number 19 jersey, is set to make her debut for her new club when they take on Barcelona on Saturday. Sevilla have won just once in their last six games and they are placed 11th on the league table with 18 points after 17 games.
Uchenna, 22, graduated from the Southeastern University (SEU) in Florida, USA, where she studied Sports Management.
While in school, she was named Player of the Year by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) for her unsurpassed performance with the SEU Women's team.
She was instrumental for the Super Falcons in the 2019 WAFU Women's Tournament held in Abidjan where she scored10 goals which helped Nigeria to claim the title as she emerged the Top Scorer of the tournament.
She also played a vital role in helping the Super Falcons reach the knockout stage of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France after 20 years of failed attempt.
