Enterprising midfielder Kwasi Donsu has extended his stay with Medeama Sporting Club by signing a new contract that keeps him at the Tarkwa T & A Park until August 2021.
Donsu, 22, joined the Ghana Premier League club in January 2015 on a three-year deal, which ended on June 5, 2018. But he was reassigned by the club for one more year which is also expected to run out on December 31, 2019.
However, a statement on the club’s official Twitter handle on Thursday indicated that the player has renewed his contact for another three-year term.
“We are happy to announce that midfielder Kwasi Donsu has committed his future to our club until August 2021. He signed a three-year deal,” the statement said.
The ex-Berekum Arsenals midfielder has been impressive since he joined Medeama. He played a pivotal role in annexing the club's second MTN FA Cup title during the 2015/2016 season.
Also, during the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League, Donsu, who is known for his dead-ball specialty, scored 15 goals with 12 of them coming through free kicks.
His performance captured the attention of many clubs locally and internationally with Medeama reportedly receiving several foreign offers for the free-kick expert but they refused to release him.
In September, he was adjudged the Best Midfielder at the 2018 Ghana Has Talent Tournament which was organised by International Allies in conjunction with the Proball Football Management and Capelli Sports at the Tema Sports Stadium.
Donsu is not the only player who has committed his future to the club. In another tweet, the club revealed that defender Ibrahim Yaro has also extended his contract untill 2021.
“We are delighted to announce that defender Ibrahim Yaro has penned a new contract which will keep him at the club until September 2021 #Medeama4life,” the tweet read.
