Ghana forward Patrick Twumasi looks set to join Spanish La Liga side Deportivo Alaves.
Graphic Sports can confirm that talks between Twumasi’s Kazakhstani club Astana and Alaves are at an advanced stage and the Ghanaian is expected to fly to Spain soon complete his personal terms.
Twumasi, 24, has been the livewire of Astana since joining them from Latvian side FC Spartaks, but he is bent on leaving Kazakhstan to pursue bigger challenges in Spain after a successful spell with Astana.
His current deal with Astana expires in the summer of 2019 but the club look bent on selling him in the summer as he could move as a free agent in January.
The former Red Bull Ghana forward has never hidden his desire to move away from Kazakhstan for a bigger challenge after twice being voted as player of the season.
Alaves will pay Astana a fee within the region of 3 million Euros to land the free-scoring Ghanaian attacker who has scored 18 goals and provided three assists in 28 games so far in 2018.
He could be the third Ghanaian the club have signed this summer after grabbing Obeng Regan from Serbian side FK Cukaricki and Joseph Otoo from Cheetah FC, a third-tier Ghanaian side.
