Table Tennis: Asante wins Easter Region Top 8

Promising spinner Emmanuel Asante beat defending  champion Emmanuel Ofori 3-2 in the final of the Eastern Region Top 8 ping-pong tourney to lift the trophy and an undisclosed cash prize.

 
The thrilling encounter staged last saturday  witnessed some of the nation's best table tennis players including national knockout champion emmanuel asante and promising youngster, emmanuel ofori who beat the national top see derek abrefa earlier this year in the national championship.
 
In the third and fourth placed encounter , kofi Larbi beat Desmond Oseu 3-1 to win the third placed position.
 
The competition was organised by former national star now based in Australia, Nana Yaw Boateng, who won bronze at the 2003 All Africa Games in Australia.
 
It was supervised by assistant national team coach Ebenezer Whyte  and was staged at the New Juaben Community Centre.
 
The highly patronised event was staged to prepare players in the eastern region for the Upcoming national justify your inclusion for the All Africa Games.
 
The competition is slated for July this year.
 
Mr Whyte lauded the efforts of the players and charged them to perform well at the upcoming justify your inclusion tournament.
