The management of Asoba Foundation, a table tennis NGO, have awarded Coach Dora Sarpong for her relentless contribution towards training of young players.

Miss Sarpong, the only female national team coach, is noted to have helped nurture over 100 young talents to develop interest in the sport.

Some of these talents she trained have matured in the sport and are currently competing at most of the Senior High Schools they are enrolled in and are to make it to the top.

She has over 50 of her trainees in the national team, especially the cadet and the mini-cadet divisions.

A citation presented to her by her club was in recognition of her relentless contribution to the club and indicated that “Your dedication to the welfare of the children has ensured that all of them are in school and performing well.

“It is worthy to note one of your players is in KNUST studying computer science and a few are in secondary school.

“Those in secondary school have also been given scholarship opportunities by the University Of Ghana.

If there be any praise, if there be any thanksgiving, if there be any glorification, the time is now for us to celebrate you”, the citation said.
