The leadership of TMM Sports Alliance, a new sports talent management firm, says it is targeting young people in Tarkwa and other parts of the Western Region with effective management strategies to help fulfill their dreams of becoming successful sportsmen in future.

Speaking at the official launch last Saturday, the Executive Director of the firm Mr Justice Annan noted that his outfit’s take-off plan is to build training facilities for the nurturing of young talents in the Western Region and beyond.

Mr Annan added that the firm had discovered a great deal of talents in the region and was seeking to reach them with top notch training programmes, grooming and exposure.

“There are sports talents but what is lacking is the support. A genuine support and the willingness to help build a proper sports career for our young talents and that was the problem we identified.

We found during our initial scouting that there are young people engaged in sporting activities with some playing good football barefooted, on hard surface and uneven grounds,” he said.

He continued: “If you look at the skills being exhibited you'll be amazed. That is the problem TMM Sports Alliance is here to solve. The difference is, with us, you know you are dealing with a legally registered limited liability company. We love the challenge and we are going for it.”

 TMM focus

TMM’s focus includes football, basketball, tennis and volleyball players. At the moment, a number of individuals and groups support young people with sports talents in the region but without proven corporate governance structured which leaves some of these talents, sometimes disappointed and disillusioned.

However, TMM Sports Alliance, according to its management, will offer proper management of talents, which is one of the key gaps in sports development in Ghana.
