The male and female hockey teams of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) went on the rampage on Saturday with a cricket scoreline against their respective opponents to give credence of defending the Sapholda Hockey League they won last year.

While the  GRA male team  trounced Ark Men 8-0 to topple Exchequers from the top of  the Sapholda League table, the female team were a goal less in their encounter with Ark Ladies as they defeated them 7-0.

With that overwhelming victory,  GRA Ladies increased their points build up to 12 points from four games to  stretch their lead against arch rivals, Police Ladies who  have nine points after  defeating Extinguishers 5-1 last Saturday.

The male team of GRA who before the game had 12 points from  five matches  as against Exchequers who had 13 points,  took advantage of the goalless scoreline between league leaders Exchequers and Police and mounted intense pressure on Ark Men as soon as their game started at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra.

With the incessant pressure, GRA succeeded in hitting the back of the net of their opponents in less than a minute through Christopher Dodge.

In the second quarter of the match, Mike Akuamoah increased the scores for GRA, and seven minutes  later, Ebenezer Authur scored a  beautiful field goal to add his name to the score sheet.

Goals from Nsalbini Salia in the 32nd and 60 minutes, Anthony Aikins (33) Nicholas Hanson (48)  and Ebenezer Mettle (55) were enough to propel the  GRA  male team to the top of the league table with 15 points  at the expense of Exchequers who now occupy the second position with 14 points.

In the other women's game, Police Ladies  extinguished Extinguishers Ladies with a 5-1 victory . Goals from Serwaa Boakye in the 5th minute, Linda Sasu (28) Faustina Aggrey (30, 50) and Juliana Ankra (58) made sure that Police Ladies went home with the maximum points at stake in spite of a consolation goal scored by Extinguishers through Sarah Addai in the 38th minute.

In the Masters game , Sapholda defeated Citizens 2-0, while Multistix sent NDK Financiers packing with a 3-1 victory.

The Youth side also saw Ark Boys losing 0-1 to Real Ambassadors with Tema Manhean winning 2-1 against NDK Financiers ,and on the ladies side, Reformers succeeded in reforming Real Ambassadors Ladies with a 4-0 victory to bag the maximum points.
