Newly-appointed Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr Majeed Bawah has revealed plans by his out to brand the walls of all national stadia.
According to him, the strategy is aimed at generating internal revenue for the maintenance of the national edifices.
“We have entered into an agreement with a company that will brand the walls around the stadia across the country – Kumasi, Tamale, Cape Coast, Essipon and Accra. They will look for the prospective companies who are interested in and want to take advantage to promote their brands,” he said on Accra FM.
Aside from branding, Mr Bawa disclosed that the NSA intended to continue renting out the stadia for social events as a means of generating more revenue for periodic maintenance.
“We have also ordered for a carpet that can protect the pitch so that we can use the pitch for social and musical concert to raise revenue for the maintenance of the facilities,” he said.
Mr Bawah has been acting as Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA) for the past eight months but at a meeting of the NSA governing board on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, it was unanimously decided that he should be made a substantive head.
