US-based Ghanaian table tennis star, Courage Nanevie, has improved his rankings in the sport following a spectacular display in his monthly competition with the Westchester table tennis centre in USA.
The dynamic ping pong player has, thus, moved from his previous rank in the Under 2200 to the Under 2203 category where he can now play in relatively higher competitions like the Under 2350 and 2500.
Nanevie who disclosed this to the Graphic Sports online said the upgrade was in recognition of his performance of the game since joining the Westchester centre last year.
The table tennis player was the overall best in their last month's competition picking the ultimate after outplaying some difficult oponents including Benjamin Zhang in the final of the monthly competition to grab gold.
Following that achievement, the Ghanaian table tennis prodigy expressed his excitement for the current achievement and believed that would spur him to do much more and raise the flag of Ghana high.
“Upon my victory the last time my ranking has gone up to Under 2203 in the America table tennis ranking which means that I can’t play in the under 2200 tournament but I have to play in a relatively higher ones like 2350, 2500 and open tournaments”, he stated.
According to Nanevie, he stellar performance in the USA had been recorded in the USA table tennis data base out of which the ranking authorities based his current ranking.
