More athletes win Millennium Marathon raffle

Three lucky athletes on Saturday won prizes at the bi-monthly Millennium Marathon Raffle Draw held at the premises of the Elite Sports Shop at Labone in Accra.

The winners were Mohammed Sulley, Zakaria Mohammed and Kojo A Kodokl.

For their prizes, the three winners took home training kit and gym accessories, including skipping rope, mats, balls, gloves, weights and T-shirts.

Speaking at the event, CEO of the Elite Sports and Zen Gardens, Wael Hakim noted that sports promoted the growth of the economy and puts Ghana on the lime light commending the organisers for the initiative.

"It is time Ghana started showing everyone around the world what we are made of with these kinds of events and we are elated to be sponsors of the Millennium Marathon since its inception and we hope to keep this relationship for a long time," he said.

A para-wheelchair racing athlete, Zakaria Mohammed, who was one of the winners expressed appreciation to the the management of the Millennium Marathon and the Elite Sports for the inclusion of para-athletes in the raffle draw.

"As people with disability all we yearn for is inclusion so I thank the organisers for this opportunity to participate and win this award," he said.

Saturday's draw was the fifth in a roll with the next one scheduled to come off on September 1 at the same venue.

The ultimate winner of the raffle draw will take home a Nissan Kicks SUV at the final event which will take place on September 22 at the Independence Square in Accra.
