The Labadi Beach Hotel has entered into partnership with the Achimota Golf Club to help provide essential services to the golf facility during competitions.
The initiative is intended to help provide critical services as hosting and catering which has become an intergral part of sports events.
At a short ceremony at the Achimota Golf Club last Saturday to seal the patnership, the General Manager of Labadi Beach Hotel, Rene Vincent-Ernst, said his outfit was ready to collaborate with the sports industry to promote the health of both athletes and other stakeholders, particularly, during sporting events.
A board member of the Labadi Beach Hotel, Professor Douglas Boateng signed on behalf of the hotel, while the Vice President of the Achimota Golf Club, Albert Brock, signed for the club.
Mr Vincent-Ernst said nutrition was a critical aspect of sports as it directly impacts the health of athletes and was thus ready to liaise with sports federations to provide the best catering services for spectators, athletes and industry players in the discipline.
“We are ready to collaborate with the Youth and Sports Ministry and other relevant entities to satisfy the needs of Ghanaians and other natives across the continent during sports competitions and programmes,” he said.
He said sports and golf in particular, was a sport synonymous to quality and detailed organisation and said the partnership between Labadi Beach Hotel and the Achimota Golf Club as one that will help promote the sport further in the country.
"We call this a new marriage between La Beach and Achimota Golf club and we hope together, we can help in the development and promotion of golf, in particular, sports in general and good nutrition.
The vice president of Achimota Golf Club welcomed the the hotel to the venture and said the collaboration will help the club address one of the important aspect of the club’s activities.
“Catering is an important aspect of the sport and we’re happy Labadi Beach Hotel has come on board. We consider that aspect as very important and we have no doubt the partnership will inure to the benefit of both parties,” Mr Brock said.
The Head of Sales and Marketing of hotel, Mr David Eduaful, added the hotel’s link with the golf club was a great partnership between two indigenous Ghanaian entities.
"We are both Ghanaian entities and can do a lot together. This is a great partnership and we are ready to effectively play our part to make it succeed,” Mr Eduaful said.
