The management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has sent their condolences to the family of the former Vice President of Ghana, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, who died yesterday at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
A statement signed by the Communications Manager of the club, Kwame Opare Addo, said: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the demise of this great Phobian and shareholder but trust in the good Lord to grant him a perfecting resting place as he departs to eternal glory.”
“We share the pain of his family, colleagues and the entire nation. Our condolences go especially to his wife and children, who undoubtedly will be most affected.”
The statement noted that: “Amissah-Arthur served mother Ghana diligently in many diverse ways and was a true Phobian and impacted positively on many lives. May he rest in peace.”
Amissah-Arthur, 67, was a staunch follower of the club and a shareholder as well. He reportedly collapsed at the Air Force Gym in Accra yesterday during a workout.
He was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
