Staff of Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) on Saturday, August 11 embarked on a health walk to keep fit, as well as to increase awareness on the ongoing Graphic-Devtraco Dream House Promotion which seeks to reward loyal readers of the Daily Graphic, Graphic Sports and sister brands with two-bedroom Devtraco houses and other exciting prizes.
The 7.8 kilometre walk took participants through some principal streets of Accra, starting from the Graphic Press House through Liberia Road, Starlets ‘91 Road in front of the Accra Sports stadium, Castle Road between Osu Cemetery through to Accra Psychiatric Hospital through to Additrom Street at Adabraka and back to the starting point where the participants engaged in aerobics to crown the day.
Leading the walk was the acting Managing Director of the company, Nana Kweku Dei (known in private life as Ransford Tetteh) and included the Director of Marketing, Franklin Sowa, acting Graphic Sports Editor, Maurice Quansah, and many other staff who disteributed leaflets on the loyalty promotion backed by brass band music.
For his part, Nana Kweku Dei appealed to all the workers of the company to join in subsequent walks to help make the Graphic brand the greatest adding the event will be repeated nationwide.
"This walk is an exciting experience for all of us. We just not selling our products with this walk but we also want to keep healthy,” he said.
In an address, Mr Sowa noted that his outfit decided to put the event together to build up a culture of keeping fit and healthy living and also seize the occasion to inform the public about the promotion.
"We are sensitive to the health conditions of our workers and we also believe that a healthy mind lives in a healthy body a few months ago we organised a health screening for all our workers nationwide so this walk is a follow up on that screening," Mr Sowa said.
"Also the Graphic-Devtraco Dream House is one of the exciting things that the Graphic Communications Group Limited has brought to the market to change the dynamics of the media landscape so we embarked on this walk to improve the awareness on the promotion, excite the general public and to remind them that we have over GHc1 million value of prizes to give away.”
