The Ghana Rugby Women’s Sevens National Team, the Ghana Eagles, have presented their trophy to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Interplast Ghana, Haysam Fakhry, during a visit to the company at Spintex in Accra.
The Ghana Eagles, who were sponsored by Interplast, returned from their Africac Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Tournament in Monastir with the Challenge Trophy after beating Zambia by 21 points to 14.
In presenting the trophy to Mt Fakhry, the president of Ghana Rugby Union (GRU), Herbert Mensah, thanked the company for its immense support to the sport and pledged the association’s commitment to continue working hard to win more laurels for the nation.
He continued that the many achievements of Ghana Rugby in just a few years would not have been possible without the support of corporate institutions such as Interplast Ghana.
“We came to show appreciation for the immense support your company has been giving to us and on behalf of the association, I want to promise that we will continue working hard to ensure our athletes win more laurels for the nation,” he said.
Mr Fakhry in return congratulated the team for achieving their feat at the continental stage and promised to continue supporting the sport in the future.
