The Western Park at Achimota School wil be the hot spot when young cricket talents stage a two-team tournament on January 7 at 1 p.m.

The competition is for Under-13 young cricketers who are under the guidance of Nsromma Cricket Academy.

The novel competition, which has a trophy at stake and is dubbed the ‘Constitution Cup,’ will be between Phos Foods Lions Cricket Club (SLCC) and College Cricket Club (CCC).

A brain child of SNEB Asamoah, a director of the reputable Nsromma Cricket Academy, the one-day event is to take cricket and its values to communities and to commemorate Ghana’s constitution day.

“The competition will increase awareness of the relevance of the constitution among the children,” he told the Graphic SportsOnline in an interview in Accra.

He also stressed that the batting and bowling fiesta was aimed at getting children to engage in a healthy activity while cultivating healthy rivalry.

“We also want them to test their skills against their colleagues and identify their strengths and weaknesses,” he stated.
