Al-Rayan International School (ARIS) won the maiden edition of the Ghana Minigolf Federation’s school competition which ended last Saturday in at the at Ridge in Accra.
It featured over 100 qualified finalists from eight schools with Galaxy International School finishing up as first runners-up in a keenly contested event.
Aggrey Memorial School placed third.
The maiden competition teed-off last Saturday morning as competing schools went through two qualifying rounds in singles and doubles events for both male and females.
In the males doubles, Pat Academy won gold, followed by Al-Rayan with silver while Ghana International School (GIS) won the bronze. The female doubles saw Galaxy School beating Al-Rayan to the first position with Aggrey Memorial finishing third.
In the individual encounters, Galaxy International won gold and silver in the male category, with GIS settling for bronze.
Ghana Minigolf Federation Media Director, Mr Fadi Fattal, congratulated the participating schools for their enormous support and taking part in this maiden schools competition and confirmed that the upcoming national schools competition would place later this year in the next school semester.
