Women’s Special Competition Week 5: Visiting Hasaacas Ladies tame Sea Lions, Ampem Darkoa thump Pealpia Ladies 3-0

Perpetual Agyekum scored all the four goals for Hasaacas Ladies since the competition started

Sekondi-based Hasaacas Ladies on Saturday defeated Sea Lions 1-0 at the Nduom Stadium to record their first win in the ongoing Normalisation Committee Women’s Special Competition.

Skipper Perpertual Agyekum slotted home her fourth goal of the competition to hand Hasaacas Ladies a vital lead halfway through the game.

It took Agyekum and a great defense from veteran Janet Egyir, Linda Eshun, Regina Antwi and Vida Ofori to protect the lone goal to hand Sea Lions their first defeat in the tournament in front of their vociferous Elmina fans.

The victory now gifts Hasaacas five points from five matches having lost twice and drawn twice in their previous games. Hasmal will play their final Group C game against Soccer Intellectuals at the Gyandu Park, Sekondi on Wednesday, March 27.

Now there is a huge relief for the Sekondi-based club following a goalless stalemate between LadyStrikers and Soccer Intellectuals on Sunday, who are both tied on six points each.

At the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Ampem Darkoa added to the woes of Pealpia Ladies after they defeated them 3-0 courtesy goals scored by Mavis Owusu in the 23rd minute, Patience Boamah (45th) and Ophelia Amponsah.

In the other Group B match played at the Army Park in Sunyani, Prisons Ladies battered Northern Ladies 3-0.

The match officiated by referee Mariama Yensuah saw Helena Obeng got the opener in the 9th minute, Ruth Animah added the second goal in the 31st minute before Rita Okyere sealed the emphatic victory for Prisons in the 42nd minute.

Ampem Darkoa have now taken charge of the summit of Group B table with nine points, Prisons are second with eight points, Northern Ladies maintain their third position with five points while Pearlpia trail with four points.
