The FIFA / Government of Ghana Normalisation Committee (NC) has postponed the launch of the Special Competition for 64 Premier League and Division One League clubs.

The launch of the tournament was originally scheduled for Monday, 14th January 2019, but following the withdrawal of the 16 Premier League clubs, the NC has postponed the launch with a new date set to be announced soon.

Yesterday, a statement on the Ghana Football Association website read: “The Ghana Football Association has rescheduled the launch of the GFA Special Competition.”

“A new date for the launch will soon be announced. We sincerely apologise to our media friends and stakeholders for the inconvenience,” it added.

The 16 top Division clubs withdrew from the tournament last week stating they were not convinced by the format leaving the Special Competition in limbo.
