Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Monday left Kumasi for Mampong to prepare in the next couple of days for Sunday’s Normalisation Committee (NC) Special Cup semi-final match against rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“Heading to Asante Mampong! We are on a bus to Asante Mampong for a 4-day training camp,” the club announced via Twitter.
“Meanwhile...We have arrived in Asante Mampong for our training camp #AKSC,” the club twittered few hours later.
Per the camping schedules, Coach C K Akonnor and his charges will move straight from Mampong to Accra on Sunday for the epic clash.
The Porcupine Warriors initially pulled out of the competition following disagreements over the match venue and gate proceeds but later rescinded their decision.
Meanwhile, Kotoko are expecting the return of midfielder Abdul Fatawu Safiu who missed out on the Black Stars final squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Kotoko progressed to the semi-finals of the Special Cup after finishing second on Premier A table behind Ashantigold who will take on Premier B runners-up Karela United.
