Accra Hearts of Oak interim coach, Seth Hoffmann will get an opportunity to prove his mettle when he leads his charges against Swedru All Blacks in a friendly game on Monday, July 2 at the Swedru Park.
The match will be Coach Hoffmann’s first competitive assignment since he took over from Henry Wellington, who was sacked three weeks ago by the management of the club for non-performance.
Though the league has been on break, Coach Hoffman and his team have held daily training sessions since he took over, ostensibly, to improve upon the fitness of the players.
Yesterday, a source close to the management of the club hinted the Graphic Sports that Coach Hoffmann’s tireless efforts have impressed the leadership of the club and they could maintain him as head coach when the league resumes.
According to the source, management have rescinded their earlier decision to search for a new coach for the team adding the outcome of Monday’s game will play a crucial role in determining the regularisation of his appointment.
“Coach Hoffman is doing very well with the boys and management is happy with his work so far. If he continues the way he has started, they are likely to make him the substantive head coach,” the source said.
