The Chief Executive Officer of Charger Limited, producers of Happy Man Bitters, Dr Emmanuel Borketey Bortey has disclosed that his outfit is hatching plans of sponsoring the Ghana Premier League when the competition resumes.

He made the revelation on Friday during an interview with Accra-based media outlet Eclipse Broadcasting Network.

“Before the Anas exposè, Happy Man Bitters as a brand, we had a management meeting and decided to sponsor the league but we decided to start with some of the local clubs so we sponsored the National Circles Council of Asante Kotoko, Aduana Stars, Berekum Chelsea and we also sponsored some lower division teams, which included Kasana Nankana Football Club.”

He continued: “This was meant to test the viability of investing in the nation’s most loved sport and thankfully, the current GFA administration are on the right track and we are happy about it so we want focus attention to the main league.”

He reiterated Happy Man Bitters’ willingness to sponsor the league on a long-term basis.

“We simply don’t want to enter into a sponsorship deal and do it for just a year or two and leave the scene because that will not be good for our brand,” he added.
